Darn! you could use ACE provider for both connections. I mentioned I had to go back to the archives. It is amazing Jet 4.0 is still around. I could probably get hammered for saying, but I don't think adding the 2 extenders is doing any service for processing speed; could probably track progress with a MsgBox. Just .02

As you said... Having a nested loop is what is sucking a major portion of the CPU cycles.  Removing the aStatusBar function would help but that is in part because of the conditional statement that determines when the function is called.
