Idle speculation has its entertainment value but isn't necessarily a very productive use of time. So could you offer a reason for posting the above?  Do you have a question or comment?

Amid all the noise, it looks to me that the problem is using square brackets instead of round ones on a function call.

It says something like:

x = AskLine[ ... ]

which, obviously, won't work.
