After many hours of chasing dead ends, the forum is mostly back. The root cause of the bork is still unclear, but the preponderance of evidence suggests a glitch in either an SSD drive or MSFT's OS.

Of course, there is always the possibility of a malicious actor hacking, but the damage done does not align well with the explanation.

If anyone encounters any problems with the forum, don't be shy. Let us know.
