Hi,

I purchased a new version of Winbatch 2013C two months back.

When I try to open the Winbatch file (.wbt) in my application, I receive the error 'The stub received bad data' sporadically.

Can someone please let me know how to overcome this error ?

Thanks in advance!!

Deana

I don't recognize the error. Could you please provide further details.

  • You mention that you get the error when you try to "open" the .wbt file in your application. Are you running the .wbt or opening it to edit?
  • What 'application' are you referring to?
  • What windows platform?
  • What are the exact steps that cause the error?

It appears that is a Windows System Error 1783 The stub received bad data.  RPC_X_BAD_STUB_DATA: http://techsupt.winbatch.com/webcgi/webbatch.exe?techsupt/tsleft.web+WinBatch/Error~Codes+!!Windows~System~Errors!!.txt

Maybe see if the following Windows Hotfix applies to your situation:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822751

I recommend checking the Windows event log for possible clues...

Hi Deana,

Thanks for the response. Below are the informations that was requested.

I was trying to open the wbt file by double clicking (not in edit mode). It is a custom application that was designed earlier using Winbatch 2005E. The error occurred in the Windows 2008 Server platform. Please find the steps performed below:

1. Login to the server and parse to the path where file exists (D:\Program Files (x86)\TDLinx Custom Delivery\Custom Deliverables)
2. Double click the file 'Custom Deliverable.wbt'.

Also I checked in the event viewer and there was no error available for it.

PFA for refrence.

Thanks!!

Deana

Windows Server 2008 requires at least WinBatch version 2007E or newer: http://techsupt.winbatch.com/webcgi/webbatch.exe?techsupt/tsleft.web+WinBatch+!WinBatch~Platform~Support.txt.

WinBatch 2005E is not supported. First I recommend updating your version of WinBatch if you plan on running on Windows 2008 server. For more information about renewals please see our software renewals page: https://commerce.windowware.com/webcgi/webbatch.exe?updates/update.web.
